Conference Announcement

As a current or recent EARIE member, we are pleased to inform you that the Faculty of Economics at the University in Ljubljana will host the 36th Annual Conference of the European Association for Research in Industrial Economics (EARIE) which will take place 3-5 September 2009 in Ljubljana, Slovenia.

With its annual conferences, EARIE provides a platform for members to present and discuss their latest research, as well as being a forum for the exchange of theories and research findings in the broad field of industrial economics. Researchers in the area are invited to submit their papers for the annual EARIE conferences.

Young Economists’ Essay Awards

On the occasion of the EARIE Annual Conference, the Young Economists' Essay Awards for exceptionally innovative and high-level papers are granted to young researchers who are under 35 years of age and who have completed their PhD less than 5 years ago. Please understand that only single-authored papers are eligible for the award.

The purpose of the Young Economists' Essay Awards is to encourage young researchers to participate in the conference. If you wish to qualify for this award at EARIE 2009, please tick the corresponding box on the submission form (which will be available soon on the conference website).

Programme

The programme, organized by Luis Cabral together with the scientific and local committees, will include the following keynote speakers:

  • Paul Milgrom, Stanford University
  • Robert Porter, Northwestern University
  • Jean Tirole, Toulouse School of Economics

Also included in next year's programme will be a series of eight invited sessions on the following topics: Contracts and Organizations; Game Theory, Strategy and IO; Innovation and Productivity; Mergers and Collusion; Vertical Relations; Empirical IO; and Estimation of Dynamic Models.
